Yellow Ribbon Dogs
If you see a dog with a yellow ribbon or something yellow on their leash, this indicates that the dog needs extra space. Please do not approach this dog or its people with your dog. The yellow ribbon indicating that their dog cannot be in close proximity to other dogs and you must remain approx. 4m distance from this dog. There are many reasons why a dog may need space:

• Maybe the dog has health issues or is recovering from surgery

• The dog may be a rescue dog and is being rehabilitated and the world can be a very scary place for these dogs

• The dog may have had a bad experience with another dog or just not like the kind of friendly dogs who always want to say “Hi”

• The dog may be timid or nervous around other dogs

• The dog may have had a bad experience around other dogs with behaviour problems

Whatever the issue may be, please be mindful of the dogs who “need space", If you think your dog may need a yellow ribbon, please discuss with your Instructor or a Committee Member.

Important things to remember
1. If you have young children with you, be sure they only approach a strange dog with the owner’s permission
2. No smoking is allowed on club grounds
3. Age limit: handlers must be a minimum of 12 years of age
4. Pups must be a minimum of 4 months old
5. We recommend not to jump your dog, if it is under 12 months of age or 18 months for larger breeds.

Evacuation Plan:

-
In the unlikely event of a fire in the Clubhouse, do not attempt to put out the fire as we are not trained fire fighters. The correct procedure is to notify a Committee Member and anyone nearby (if possible), then proceed to the Assembly Area with your dog near the Swan Street gate entrance and wait. A Committee Member will then check that everybody is safe and accounted for.
