
Basic Guide for New Members

New Member's are welcomed on the first Sunday of each month (excluding long weekends and during December & January)

Dog(s) must be a minimum age of 4 months and immunised to C5 Level (Kennel Cough)

All Children (younger than 12 years old) are required to be supervised by a non-participating adult at all times. This is required for insurance purposes and for the health & safety of all Club Members

Junior Handlers must be a minimum age of 12 years. If the Junior Handler (12 - 16 years old) is the only person to be training the dog(s), a family membership is still required, as it is a Club requirement that a parent/guardian be in attendance at the club grounds

*Fees: membership $40 single, or $40 for family per annum, $10 per training session. Please remember that our club is a small volunteer run organisation, and therefore does not have EFTPOS, so please bring sufficient cash.

Location: Cor Scholten Canine Centre, 25 Swan Street, North Tamworth (off Peel St.)

Those attending for the 1st time, are requested to bring their dog's **Vaccination Certificate. You will have an orientation morning for the first half of the session and basic training with your dog for the second half. On completion of the orientation morning, you will be promoted you will then be welcome to train your dog every Sunday morning

You must comply with the club's ground rules

Collars, check chains and leads can be purchased at the club if required

Starting Time: 8.30am

You may want to bring a treat pouch and treats for your dog. You can not purchase treats at the club.

We close during summer from early December to the first week of February to rest our dogs and Instructors from the heat.
* Fees: When paying fees, please bring the correct money, as we do not have EFTPOS facilities, and only carry a small float
** Vaccination for your dog is required to be C5 level (including Kennel Cough). Boarding Kennels also require C5 level vaccinations
Some vets will only vaccinate to C3 level, so please request the extra protection of the C5 level. Very young dogs can only be vaccinated to C3, but C5 vaccination must be completed when a vet can safely do so.
